Goldgate
Pictures of Mohamed Abdelhaq Mohamed Gouda, one of the detained Egyptian suspects in Lusaka’s Goldgate, have surfaced online. Gouda had served as an Assistant Military Attaché in Washington DC (2011-2012), with the rank of major. He was a US-trained SEAL with the Egyptian Special Forces, before retiring roughly five years ago with the rank of colonel.
Gouda appeared in a charity TV ad two years ago, where a hospital wing was to be named after the late Special Forces SEAL Commander Colonel Ahmad el-Mansi (killed in 2017 in Sinai), whom Gouda described as his friend.
